The 79th New York Co. A was established to promote and ensure an accurate portrayal of the 79th New York Highlanders. Membership to the company provides an avenue for learning and sharing information regarding the 79th. Our members are encouraged to achieve a greater knowledge of the original 79th New York Highlanders. We encourage our members to participate in other 79th company's ranks in a spirit of friendship and comradeship. The company sets standards of uniformity based on criteria found in historical research and archaeological evidence and we are dedicated to honoring the memory of the original 79th New York Highlanders. Our East Tennessee unit serves the Southeast. We boast members from seven states, and we reenact all over the east coast. We share fantastic relations with other 79th companies from around the world. Our goal is to reenact as accurately as possible and to have as much fun as we can, and to bond as a fraternity with one another.
